Hydrate for Empathy

You probably know many of the reasons why hydration is important: regulating body temp, supporting physical performance, enhancing cognitive function, promoting healthy digestion, supporting healthy skin, boosting energy levels and the list goes on!

But I’m going to give you one more.

Hydration can be an empathy practice that you can start right now.

Try the work of Dr. Emoto, who believed that water could be affected by our thoughts and emotions. Dr. Emoto conducted experiments where he froze water and then examined the crystals formed under a microscope. He found that water exposed to positive words and thoughts formed beautiful, symmetrical crystals, while water exposed to negative thoughts and words formed misshapen, unattractive crystals.

Dr. Emoto's work on the effects of positive and negative energy on water can be seen as an example of how our thoughts and emotions can have a significant impact on the world around us. This idea has been further explored in the field of empathy, which is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others.

Empathy is a powerful tool for promoting positive change in the world, as it allows us to see things from another's perspective and respond with compassion and understanding. Just as Dr. Emoto's work suggests that water can be affected by positive or negative energy, empathy suggests that our thoughts and emotions can also have an impact on the people around us and on ourselves.

When we offer ourselves and others positive energy, kindness, and understanding, we can create a ripple effect of positivity that spreads beyond our immediate interactions. By recognizing and valuing the emotions of others and our own, we can create a more compassionate and empathetic world.

With this in mind, you can "bless" your water by holding a positive intention for it before you drink. You can say a simple affirmation like "I bless this water to hydrate and nourish my body" or "I am grateful for this water, which brings health and vitality to my body." By doing this, you may find that you enjoy drinking water more and feel a deeper connection to its life-sustaining properties.

Give it a shot today.
